Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Course 2023 is being brought to you by UCC/CoMH, The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Edwards Lifesciences. It will be held in The ASSERT Centre, College of Medicine & Health, UCC, Cork on Wednesday the 8th of November 2023.

This course is geared towards cardiothoracic surgical trainees who wish to develop their skills in minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with minimally invasive mitral surgery and access surgery on fresh frozen cadavers in our state of-the-art surgical skills laboratory. The simulated operating rooms feature integrated audio-visual facilities to allow for real time and post-procedure feedback from expert faculty. There will be 2 participants per cadaver and there will be 1-to-1 supervision/direction by the expert faculty.

• Aortic Root Replacement
• Aortic Arch Replacement

Afternoon Session

• VATS Lobectomy
• Complex Airway Procedures
